The New York Giants offense looks broken right now. It’s not a subtle problem. It’s a glaring hole that needs filling before the season starts. If you watch the practice fields, you see the issue. The team is far from ready to climb out of the NFL cellar. Even though hiring John Harbaugh as the new head coach represents a solid decision, he can’t resolve every issue alone. The offense is grinding along without any real spark.

The Red Zone Nightmare

The biggest problem happened right in front of everyone on Tuesday. The starting offense couldn’t score a single point in the red zone. They started at the 17-yard line. That’s close enough to put the ball in the end zone. Instead, they came up empty. Isaiah Likely caught a pass from Jaxson Dart right at the front pylon, but Arvell Reese broke it up. A fourth-and-long ended with a weak checkdown to Devin Singletary. This isn’t good enough for a team with playoff dreams.

Paul Schwartz of the New York Post wrote that the offense isn’t where it needs to be. He said, “this needs plenty of work.” He’s right. The Giants are stuck in the middle of a rebuild. They have a new staff, but the results aren’t showing up on the scoreboard. The red zone series was a disaster. It showed that the players aren’t on the same page yet. Dart has to learn how to make plays when the field shrinks. The new staff has experience, but experience doesn’t score points automatically.

A New Staff With Big Expectations

John Harbaugh brought in a whole new group to run the offense. This was a complete overhaul of the braintrust. They have a lot of experience on the staff, but experience doesn’t mean success yet. The Giants need to lift the franchise out of the dungeon. They’re stuck in a bad place. Summer camp isn’t going well. The team is struggling to find its rhythm. Dart has to relearn how to run this new system. He can’t rely on old habits.

The pressure is on the young quarterback. He has to step up and make the right reads while the new coaches watch closely. They want to see if he can handle the heat. The Giants need a spark. They need to start scoring points. The red zone failure is a warning sign. If they don’t fix it, the season will be a long one. Harbaugh knows this. The staff knows this. Dart knows this.

The Giants have a long way to go. The camp is still young, but the problems are already clear. The offense isn’t working. The red zone is a mess. Dart must fix this fast.
