The Browns' decimated defensive line faces a critical test Sunday. Per Yahoo Sports, key players are out, giving the Jets a real shot to bounce back at MetLife.

Most people expect fans to be upset after a playoff sweep. They don’t expect them to call for a total purge of the leadership. According to a recent The Post poll, over 11,000 voters indicate that nearly 85 percent desire Aaron Boone’s removal from the dugout. The numbers are staggering. The Bronx is not just angry; it is looking for an exit strategy for the entire management team.

The fallout follows a brutal three-game sweep at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays. New York lost every game in the American League Division Series. The season ended on Wednesday night with a 4-3 loss at Yankee Stadium. It was the final blow in a series where the Yankees could not find a way to win. Now, the fans are turning their sights on the front office and the dugout.

The Search for Accountability

The frustration extends far beyond the manager. According to Yahoo Sports, 73 percent of those who voted in the poll—totaling 8,535 people—want Brian Cashman to lose his job. Cashman has held his position as general manager for 29 seasons. While he has seen four World Series titles and seven pennants, the recent lack of success is wearing thin. One voter even suggested that “Cashman should go or change the organization’s approach to hitting.”

The roster construction is a major pain point for the fanbase.

A Clubhouse in Disarray

The physical toll of the series was visible on the field. Aaron Boone described a “broken clubhouse” after the Wednesday night loss. The team struggled to produce at the plate, and the lineup changes did not help. For instance, Trent Grisham went 0-for-11 during the ALDS. The manager also benched Jazz Chisholm Jr. for the start of Game 3. Chisholm Jr. had very little to say about the decision, telling reporters, “No comment. Next.”

While some players are facing criticism, others are seeing their value rise. Anthony Volpe appeared to be a bright spot despite the team’s failure. About 79 percent of poll participants believe he should stay with the franchise. This stands in stark contrast to the sentiment regarding veteran sluggers. Per Yahoo Sports, 86 percent of voters want Giancarlo Stanton gone, and 91 percent want Jazz Chisholm Jr. off the roster.

The Cost of Inaction

The lack of recent glory is hard to ignore. The Yankees have not won a World Series since 2009. This 17-year drought is a heavy weight on the franchise. Even MLB legend Alex Rodriguez noted that “something has to change” following the Game 3 loss. The fans are no longer willing to wait for a turnaround that never seems to arrive.

Some fans are even threatening to walk away entirely. A Barstool Sports personality, Tommy Smokes, claimed he is boycotting the team until serious changes occur. He wrote on X that he is done caring about the franchise because it is a “loser, complacent franchise.” The tension in New York is at an all-time high, and the offseason promises to be a period of massive upheaval.
