The New York Jets found a way to stop the bleeding on Sunday, Oct. 11. While the rain made everything slippery, the win over the Cleveland Browns was exactly what this roster needed to break a three-game losing streak, according to reports.

Garrett Wilson and Braelon Allen aren’t just playing well; they are carrying the load for an offense that is missing too many pieces.

The Wilson and Allen Engine

Garrett Wilson is still the focal point. Per reports, Wilson grabbed seven catches for 104 yards during the contest. He makes the difficult plays look easy. Head coach Aaron Glenn didn’t hold back when discussing the wide receiver on Monday. “He’s an elite receiver, he’s highly competitive, and he can make catches that just some guys can’t. And he’s tough as nails,” according to reports.

On the ground, Braelon Allen provided the muscle needed to grind out a win. He took 24 carries for 116 rushing yards.

Talent Buried Under Injuries

The win feels even more impressive when you look at the injury report. During the game, tight end Kenyon Sadiq also suffered a concussion evaluation, causing the team to lose him.

Tim Patrick, who was activated from injured reserve on Saturday, October 10, thinks the potential is massive. “We could be the best, honestly. We could be the best,” Patrick said, according to Yahoo Sports. He added, “We have so much talent, it’s insane.”

Defensive Dominance in the Mud

The defense actually took over the game. The pass rush was relentless against Deshaun Watson. Rookie David Bailey was a standout, recording three sacks in a huge performance. The defensive unit recorded eight total sacks on the day. This pressure allowed the Jets to move forward despite the sloppy weather.

Quarterback Geno Smith had to deal with the wet conditions, but he stayed focused. Smith stated, “The conditions, you can’t control that. The only thing you can control is doing your part.” The Jets now look toward a Sunday, Oct. 18 matchup against the New England Patriots.
