A Bold Take on the NFC East

The New York Giants have a massive chance to win the NFC East in 2026, according to a new prediction from Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon. This is a shocking call given the Philadelphia Eagles won the division last year and are looking for a three-peat. Most fans expect Dallas or Philly to take the crown, but Gagnon sees a different path for Big Blue. He wrote that “Volatility is the default setting in the NFC East, where I don’t trust anyone in the division,” which sets the stage for a wild season. The national media usually backs the Cowboys, but this writer is betting on the Giants to shock the league.

Gagnon believes the Eagles are the favorite but warns that they might struggle early due to significant offensive turnover. This is a fair point since the Eagles made big changes to their offense. Sean Mannion took Kevin Patullo’s place, while star receiver AJ Brown was traded to the Patriots. These moves shake up the unit, and even a strong defense might not save them if the passing game sputters.

Why the Giants Are Ready to Win

The Giants have built a roster that could finally break through. Gagnon stated, “I like that the Giants are loaded with young talent on both sides of the ball.” A Super Bowl-winning head coach, a Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator, and veteran additions like Isaiah Likely and Tremaine Edmunds were combined with that by them, I love. The team is young, fast, and led by John Harbaugh, who knows how to win it all. This mix of youth and experience is exactly what the Giants needed to climb the standings.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart is the key to this plan. He enters his second year with high energy and a supportive cast around him. Gagnon remarked, “Jaxson Dart and his young, high-energy supporting cast will approach 2026 with a nothing-to-lose mentality, which is dangerous if you’re Dallas, Philly or Washington.” That fearless attitude could be the spark that turns the Giants into a contender. The division rivals know they cannot count on a slow start from New York this time.

Injury News and Division Chaos

While the Giants rise, other teams face major hurdles. The Los Angeles Rams are dealing with huge losses, including their star edge rusher Myles Garrett. Tom Pelissero, an NFL insider, wrote that “Rams star Myles Garrett will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his ailing knee and is headed to injured reserve.” He will miss games against the Giants, Broncos, Eagles, and Bills. This is a massive blow to a team that already lost their first game of the season.

Field Yates of ESPN noted that both players are now on injured reserve after just one game. It is a tough start for the teams that traded for them. With the Eagles losing AJ Brown and the Rams losing Garrett, the path looks clearer for the Giants. The division is wide open, and New York might be the only team ready to seize the moment.
