Mitchell Robinson's shooting clips are back, but history says the Celtics will be let down just like the Knicks were for eight years.

The Giants have a clear path forward, but the road is paved with uncertainty. Malik Nabers is showing he’s ready to play, while Brian Burns and John Michael Schmitz face immediate hurdles. Head coach John Harbaugh gave a mixed report on Friday at training camp. The good news involves the young star receiver. The bad news hits the defensive line and the offensive center. This split reality defines the team’s current state.

Nabers Is Back and Looking Sharp

Malik Nabers moved fluidly during his first full workload on Friday. Without hesitation, he chopped down and planted his surgically repaired leg hard. This is a massive step for a player recovering from a torn ACL.

Harbaugh noted that Nabers looked the best he has all summer. The coaching staff isn’t taking chances yet. Harbaugh noted the receiver is “working his way back into practice more and more” as we move forward. Big Blue View reported that Allison Boudreau, the rehab coordinator, has put Nabers through unpredictable drills. She focused on off-balance situations to mimic real game chaos. This smart approach helps Nabers trust his body again. The team needs this speed on the outside.

Burns and JMS Bring New Worries

The defense and offense have different problems to solve right now. During Friday’s practice, Brian Burns, the edge defender, faced limitations. He did some 11-on-11 work, but the volume was low. Harbaugh said Burns is “just working through his ankle.” The coach also noted they “Monitored his reps today” to keep him safe.

Then there is the issue at center. John Michael Schmitz left practice early after a hard hit. Harbaugh confirmed that “he got his bell rung.” The team must now wait to see if Schmitz enters the concussion protocol. This delay creates a hole in the middle of the offensive line. Running back Cam Skattebo also had a limited workload coming off a dislocated ankle. Harbaugh called it natural for him to work through “the football shape coming off the rehab.” He added, “That’s what that was. It won’t be a serious injury at all.” Skattebo’s case is less scary than the others.

The Real Test Is Up Next

Giants fans should feel good about Nabers but nervous about the rest of the roster. You can’t build a winning team with key players on the sidelines. Burns needs to get his ankle right fast. The offensive line can’t afford to lose Schmitz for long. The team has a good plan for Nabers, but they need similar clarity for everyone else. The next few days will tell us if this team can stay healthy. Can the Giants rely on their stars when the season starts? That is the only question that matters now.
